Week 18 CFL Picks: Stampeders vs. Alouettes

We nailed another CFL winner in Week 17 and our overall record this season is 17-7 ATS (71-percent). This week our CFL analyst focuses on Sunday’s game between the Calgary Stampeders and Montreal Alouettes

WEEK 18 CFL

CALGARY STAMPEDERS AT MONTREAL ALOUETTES
Line: Als -5, Over/Under 56

The Montreal Alouettes return home to face the Calgary Stampeders this week with Al’s QB Anthony Calvillo coming off his poorest performance of the season in Winnipeg. Montreal is looking for redemption and after Winnipeg’s loss to Toronto Friday night there is added incentive for the home side to get a win.

The line for this game opened at Als -4.5 but action on the favorite has forced a half-point shift. Sportsbetting.ag currently offers Montreal (-5).

Home team has held the advantage in four-straight meetings between these clubs and the past two visits, Calgary was beat 46-19 and 32-11. Newly appointed starting QB Drew Tate has big expectations but with the Als (10-6 SU) now controlling their own destiny, this will be a tough matchup for the third-year pivot.

Tate and the Stamps were able to beat up on the hapless Saskatchewan Roughriders last week but here they will be facing a team with a serious chip on their shoulder. Montreal gave up 304 passing yards in their home start against Hamilton (Week 16) and managed to escape with a two-point win but we look for a much more aggressive pass rush Sunday.

CFL PICKS
The Alouettes (30.4 PPG) lead the league in scoring and when hosting Western Conference foes, Montreal averages 27.0 points per game. In eight home games this season they have outscored opponents by an average margin of 10.9 PPG and in their regular season finale at Molson Percival Stadium, we see the defending champs regaining their form.
Pick: Take the Alouettes
