CFL Playoff Picks, Stampeders vs. Eskimos

The Calgary Stampeders visit the Edmonton Eskimos in the Western Conference Semi-Final

WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS

CALGARY STAMPEDERS AT EDMONTON ESKIMOS
Sportsbetting.ag CFL Odds: Stampeders -2, Over/Under 51

In the fourth meeting between these teams the Eskimos are looking to break a trend that has seen the road team win the past four-straight games SU/ATS. Its youth vs. experience here, with recently appointed QB Drew Tate leading his Stamps against QB Ricky Ray for the Eskimos.

Tate has led his club to three-straight wins since taking over the offense from aging Henry Burris and has brought a level of consistency the Stampeders had been lacking.

The Esks (11-7 SU) meanwhile have won three of their last four, improving their win total by four games over last season and a lot of that credit goes to power back Jerome Messam, who tore up the league for 1,057 rushing yards with his punishing style. Messam improved his yards per carry average to 5.4 this season from 4.0 in limited work with the Lions but since Week 2, he only topped the 100-yard mark once at Commonwealth Stadium.

Throughout the season the Stamps have been road warriors and Tate appears to have earned the respect of his teammates when it has mattered most. While Edmonton’s defense has given up the fewest points in the CFL this season, Calgary is riding the wave of their gunslinger and playing with the upmost confidence at the most crucial time of the year. With home field bringing no apparent advantage between these two, we’re backing Calgary to advance.
Pick: Take the Stampeders
