I have taken a look at this evening's race meeting at Kempton and reckon these are the horses to lay there:
7.40 Kempton
There are enough question marks over the favourite, MALOOF, in this race for me to take him on at around 2/1. He was a very disappointing favourite over 1m at Nottingham in his last race. Today he has to race over another half a mile and that is not guaranteed to suit him, although he is a half-brother to several winners over that trip. At a bigger price I would back him but at 2.92 to lay on Betfair at present I think he is worth taking on.
8.10 Kempton
I will be laying FROSTED GRAPE in this at the price. Rather unorthodox but this horse has been racing in 3m+ chases and now finds himself in a 2m flat race at Kempton on the all-weather against some very experienced stayers. I am sure he has the ability to win this but I would want to see him give a good account of himself before backing him. Until that happens I am happy to lay him in the Win Market on Betfair at around 5.5 (9/2 in fractional odds)
BR Betting Advice:
£50 lay Maloof in the 7.40 Kempton at 2.92 on Betfair (Win Market)
£50 lay Frosted Grape in the 8.10 Kempton at 5.5 on Betfair (Win Market)
I will be trying to make £50 on each race by laying, ie betting against, the horses listed here. Sometimes I will be betting against them to win the race (Win Market), and other times not to make the frame (Place Market). I will never recommend a "lay" above the 8.0 mark (7/1 in fractional odds).
