F1 2011 Bets and Tips: Indian Grand Prix

Join BetRepublic.com for the best F1 bets and tips during the 2011 season as we preview the first ever Indian Grand Prix.

We got our Qualifying Preview completely correct as Sebastian Vettel romped to pole position as he was almost 0.3 seconds faster than Lewis Hamilton to become the first ever Indian Grand Prix pole sitter. Can he convert that pole position into the first ever race victory in India? Bet365.com believe so and their Indian Grand Prix Winner odds reflect these thoughts.

Vettel proved us correct in qualifying by showing that the Red Bull car is still the fastest car over one lap and that he values the pole positions as much as the race victories and championships. 15 of his 20 victories have come from pole position and with him starting at the front of the grid for this race, we have a big feeling that he could very well have 16 wins from pole come Sunday afternoon.

Is there anyone that can stop him in India?

Lewis Hamilton pushed him the hardest in qualifying, but he will find it tough going to win the race form fifth especially with Webber, Alonso and Button in front of him. These three will not be easy to pass at the start of the race and should Vettel get another of his customary quick starts the gap will be almost insurmountable. Hamilton will have a good race and we fancy him to finish on the podium, but we cannot see him taking the fight to Vettel.

Will any of Webber, Alonso or Button be able to do so? Of the three, only Button has been able to mount any sort of challenge to Vettel in the latter parts of this season. The world champion has blown away Webber, his team mate, and the Ferrari is just not quick enough to challenge the Red Bull for the big points. If any of them are to challenge Vettel it will be Button, but the McLaren driver has complained of issues in heating his tyres so we do not see him having enough to beat Vettel either.

As such, we are backing a Vettel win in India and the world champion and Hamilton to end up on the podium at the end of the race.

Betting Tips Recommendation:

Our money is on Sebastian Vettel to win the Indian Grand Prix @ 1.53 and Vettel and Hamilton to be on the podium @ 2.10 with Bet365.com.
