Sebastian Vettel produced a fantastic last gasp lap to ensure that he secured his 14th pole position of the season and his second successive pole position at the Yas Marina circuit on Saturday evening. All weekend long the McLarens, especially Lewis Hamilton, have looked excellent in Abu Dhabi, but Vettel pulled out all of the stops to take pole, now will he continue as the only man to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix? Not for the first time this season we are stating that things look ominous for all drivers on the F1 grid bar Sebastian Vettel as he sits on pole position again. This is his favourite spot on the grid and of his twenty-one Formula One victories sixteen have come when he has led the grid away. Also, Vettel is the only driver to win in Abu Dhabi and he did so from pole position last season and from second in 2009. We feel that Bet365.com are correct in making Vettel the favourite, but can anyone else stop him?

We feel that there are only two people that could possibly prevent Vettel from taking his twelfth race win of the season are the McLaren drivers of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. The McLarens have been the second best car this season as Red Bull have dominated through 2011 and they’ve been fastest all weekend long, bar the final seconds of qualifying, and will prove to be a difficult test for Vettel in this race.

Hamilton looks to be enjoying his racing again and he is the faster of the two McLaren drivers over one lap, but Button has honed his race craft at McLaren and has shown over the last seven races that he is one of the best racers on the grid when he has the car set to his liking. In the last seven races he has taken six podiums and finished fourth in Korea and with the speed that he and Hamilton have shown this weekend, we can see him standing on the podium again.

In fact, we see both of the McLaren drivers standing on the podium besides Sebastian Vettel, who we expect to take the race win. Our two race bets reflect our thoughts on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Betting Tips Recommendation:

Our money is on Vettel and Hamilton to be on the podium @  1.80 and Vettel and Button to be on the podium @ 2.00 with Bet365.com.
