Racing season is just around the corner and the usual suspects are topping the list of contenders in the NASCAR betting department at Sportsbetting.com.

The early list of options includes Top 3 odds for the Daytona 500 and Jimmie Johnson (+180) is leading the way in Group A followed by Carl Edwards (+295) and 2004 Sprint Cup champ, Kyle Busch (+395).

Kevin Harvick (+400) is dark horse in this group and with a win at Daytona under his belt from 2007; don’t be surprised to see Harvick listed in the top six or seven racers to bring home the title this year.

TURN TWO
Last year’s surprise winner Trevor Bayne is available in the top 3 section at +1800 and beyond the big favorites, Regan Smith (+1500) is another ride worth watching as the season gets underway.

Smith quickly mastered the two-car tandem drafting method last season on Daytona’s new surface and will be looking to improve on his seventh place finish.

Remember that 2011 set new records at Daytona for the number of different leaders (22) and lead changes (74). With similar numbers expected this season there will be a handful of plus-money matchups available once grid positions are confirmed.

The action begins Saturday, Feb. 18 with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Budweiser Shootout and the green flag drops on the main event Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1:29 pm ET.
