The first college hoops play of the season cashed a winning ticket on Long Beach State as a big underdog over Pittsburgh and today it’s back to the well with a play on another big underdog

Today’s play is on the Davidson Wildcats +16 vs. Duke.

Now, there’s no way Davidson can pull off the outright upset, so settle down anyone thinking about a moneyline play...not gonna happen. If you haven’t heard, Duke doesn’t lose at home (38 straight wins) and they never lose to Southern Conference teams, or at least they haven’t since before John Hinckley took his obsession with Jodie Foster way too far.

But a Davidson cover looks good to me. They catch a Duke team that have struggled vs. inferior competition in two of their three games so far this season. Davidson has the experience and talent to make that three of four, as they are capable of hanging with the Duke lineup.

Add in the fact Duke is coming off that huge win over MSU that landed Coach K at the top of mountain for winningest Div 1 men’s college coaches and I see a setup for a big underdog staying close enough to cover the points.
