The second annual 24 hours of hoops is underway with 9th ranked Duke and Charlotte set to tipoff at 6 pm ET. By no coincidence the primetime games Tuesday feature marquee matchups between No. 1 Kansas and Memphis (10 pm ET), and No. 2 Michigan State hosting Gonzaga (8 pm ET).
Kansas opened 2009-10 as the favorite to win its second NCAA championship in three seasons and no team remembers the first more than these Tigers, who fell to the Jayhawks in the final game of the 2008 tournament in overtime.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbooks opened the betting line at Kansas -10 but heavy action on the favorite has moved the spread as high as -12. The Over/Under is 142, just one point shy of the 143 these teams combined four in that NCAA Title game.
Also coming off an overtime finale in their most-recent meeting, the Spartans are 10.5 point favorites vs. the Bulldogs. Michigan State is 2-1 against Gonzaga and has won 33-straight home games overall but the Zags are expected to put up a good fight. Gonzaga posted a 109-106 triple-overtime victory over the Spartans at the Annual Maui Invitational tournament in 2005, which is scheduled for next week.
