Buffalo returned from a seven-game road trip and posted back-to-back 2-1 victories at home before heading out on the road tonight to play at Pittsburgh (-145). Ryan Miller will start for Pittsburgh and although one source had confirmed Brent Johnson was in for the Pens there are new reports saying that Fleury will be good to go. It had led to major shifts in the line for this game and the total currently sits at 5.5 UN (-115). The line was as high as 5.5 OV (-120) when it was thought that Johnson was the man.
Anaheim (-110) wraps up its six-game road trip in Florida and with J.S. Giguere gone to Toronto we should see Hiller between the pipes for the Ducks. Hiller has started four of the previous five games but Anaheim is just 2-3, scoring just one goal in each of the three losses.
Florida, on the other hand, hasn’t scored more than two goals once in its past seven so if Tomas Vokoun gets the nod bettors can probably expect a low scoring affair.
Philadelphia vs. Calgary (-130) is the game of the night thanks to a seven-player deal Sunday that Calgary hopes will swing the momentum for its sputtering offense. Team Captain Jarome Iginla will now have Matt Stajan to work with on the top line while newcomer Niklas Hagman will be on the wing with Olli Jokinen for the third line. Stajan led Toronto in power-play goals while Hagman was the all-out scoring leader with 20 goals on the season.
Wrapping up the card is a game for pride in Alberta’s northern hockey city between Carolina (-140) and Edmonton. The Oilers are 0-11-1 in their past 12, the team’s past win coming in 2009 (Dec. 30).
