Both of these sides were outsiders when they went onto the field of play in their respective Quarter Final matches against Ireland and England, but both of these sides overturned the odds to find themselves in the final four and just one game away from the Rugby World Cup Final. Wales have impressed in New Zealand and have so far lost just a single match on their march to final four. They will be happy that they were beaten by the South Africans in their opening match as the Springboks were defeated by Australia in their Quarter Final match to release their grasp on the Webb-Ellis trophy. Wales eased past Samoa in game two before annihilating Namibia and Fiji to take their place in the knockout stages against Ireland. Wales dominated their game against Ireland as they claimed a 22-10 victory to reach the Semi Finals for the first time since 1987 and they are looking a fantastic team at this moment in time. Can they reach the final with a win over the French?

The French side, despite their triumph over England in the Quarter Finals, do not look a solid unit and are not playing as a team. They were gifted too many points by England in their final eight match and they accepted the gifts to progress as 19-12 victors. However, Wales are looking the most impressive Six Nations side on display in New Zealand and, although France have won all of the last three meetings with this morning’s opponents, they will not give France such an easy time like the English did.

France will need to get themselves together and play well, but, unfortunately for the French, we have not seen them play to that level in the World Cup so far. As such, we are backing a Wales victory in this game and for them to reach their first ever World Cup final.
