Post-game betting stats for the Sportsbetting.com $100,000 Super Bowl Prop Contest

NOW WASN’T THAT A PARTY!
Eli Manning and the New York Giants carved out a piece of NFL betting history Sunday, knocking off the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl for the second time in five years with a 21-17 win at Lucas Oil Stadium.
It was the 13th time in the past 16 Super Bowls where the lower seeded team triumphed against the spread and the win improved the NFC’s record to 8-2 ATS the past decade.
But that’s the easy part. The tough stuff for anyone who had a prop list longer than their left arm is grading the results, or at least making sure your sportsbook does it right. If you’re in that spot, here’s a handy post-prop guide to the 20 picks listed at the Sportsbetting.com contest.
Sportsbetting.com Super Bowl XLVI Prop Contest
1. Will the first score of the Super Bowl be a touchdown, a field goal or safety?
Not “just a safety” – but an already infamous one that New England backers are still griping about. It was the sixth safety in Super Bowl history and it cost sportsbooks dearly.
2. Which team will score first in the Super Bowl?
Giants 2-0, not the score a lot of people were predicting early in this one.
3. Will the last score of the game be a touchdown, a field goal or safety? (Does not include conversions)
Ahmad Bradshaw sort of “fell” into this TD and there was no discrepancy over conversions since the Giants missed on their two-point try.
4. In which half will there be the most points scored?
A strange push on a strange number (19-19); safeties will do that to a game.
5. Which QB will have more passing yards in this year's Super Bowl?
Eli passed for 296 yards and Tom Brady hit for 276. Now exactly how many yards would that pass to Wes Welker have added to Tom’s total...
6. Which QB will throw more touchdown passes in this year's Super Bowl?
Tom wins this one 2-1.
7. Most receiving yards in this year's Super Bowl?
This was between Nicks, Welker and Gronkowski and Hakeem hit as the game’s leading receiver (110 yards).

Two-time MVP Eli Manning fires a perfect strike to Mario Manningham for 38 yards
8. Most receptions in this year's Super Bowl?
Gronkowski (2) was a non-factor and Cruz (4) did his dance in the endzone. Welker wins between these three with seven.
9. Will either team score three consecutive times?
New York almost cashed this ticket in the first quarter but the game’s third, fourth and fifth scores all went to the Patriots. The Giants then had the final three scores – but don’t expect books to pay double on the ‘Yes’ prop!
10. Will Eli Manning throw for 315.5 yards or more in the Super Bowl?
Eli was 30 for 40 with no picks thanks to short-range passes (7.4 YPC) that ended "Under" this total.
11. Will there be a special teams or defensive unit touchdown in the Super Bowl?
No, and it wasn’t really close.
12. Will Tom Brady have more passing yards in the first half or the second half?
According to our stats, the split was 171 yards in the first and 105 in the second.
13. Will the team that scores first in the Super Bowl win the game?
Yeah, New York did and did.
14. Will the first reception of the game (either team) be for more than 7.5 yards or less than 7.5 yards?
The first grab was a four-yarder to Bear Pascoe, one of his four receptions on the day. Pascoe finished third on Giants with 33 yards; kind of hard to believe when you consider his full-season stats of 12 receptions for 136 yards, which was seventh on the team.
15. Will the team that receives the opening kick-off in the Super Bowl score on that first drive?
Giants punted on first series.
16. Will the first 3rd down conversion of the game come by a pass reception or a run?
Pass, an 8-yarder to WR Cruz on the third play from scrimmage.
17. The longest field goal made in the Super Bowl will be more than 43.5 yards or less than 43.5?
The game’s three field goals were 29, 38 and 33 yards.
18. Will the Super Bowl go Over 54.5 points or stay Under 54.5 points?
Under all the way.
19. Will the longest touchdown play of the game be for more than 43.5 yards, or less than 43.5 yards?
Under. The four majors were listed at 2, 4, 12 and 6 yards.
20. Will the shortest touchdown of the game be more than 1.5 yards, or less than 1.5 yards?
For the third-straight year, the shortest TD was from further than 1.5 yards out but as you can see above (No. 19), it was close. The overall record for this prop in the past 11 years now sits at 6 overs and 5 unders.
