Sports betting odds watch with futures pricing for NASCAR’s Sprint Cup, the Kentucky Derby and Tiger Woods at the Masters

Odds in the 2011 Masters offered Tiger at 11 to 1, second to Phil Mickelson (+650)
Shopping for line value at online sportsbooks is a big part of becoming a successful handicapper but knowing when to buy, is just as important as knowing where to buy it.
An example we can all relate to is the NFL odds just a few hours before kickoff on a Sunday morning during the regular season. Compare prices at 10 different books and chances are, you might find a half-point here or a 10-cent moneyline edge there. But the fact is that on most games the real bargain left town days ago.
BACK TO THE FUTURES
Futures’ betting is similar but on a much broader scale that can span weeks or even months ahead of the event. Books are fishing for action to increase their handle but with limited information, a lot of bettors are wise not to overexpose their bankroll.
Injuries, playing conditions and trades can also have an impact and let’s face it; there is usually enough going on in the world of sports betting that not everyone has the time to be scanning long distance futures or tracking line moves.

2012 KENTUCKY DERBY

Union Rags is trained by Michael Matz who also trained legendary thoroughbred Barbaro, winner of the 2006 Kentucky Derby
Early Pool 1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby have been posted and Algorithms is the favorite at 8 to 1 followed by Union Rags (10/1), shown above.
Next is Hansen at 12 to 1 and we have already seed the sports betting public jump on Alpha (12/1), Liaison (20/1) and Discreet Dancer (15/1), moving them off originally posted paybacks.
Check the Daily Racing Forum for a complete look at Pool 1 Futures.
MASTERS ODDS
Pinnacle Sports offers an interesting prop on how many majors Tiger Woods will win in 2012 and the payback on exactly one is +341. Sportsbetting.ag lists Tiger (4/1) as the overall favorite to win at Augusta and if he’s going make a “major” comeback statement anywhere, this might be the best place for it to happen.
After Woods is Rory McIlroy (7/1), Phil Mickelson (14/1), Luke Donald (14/1) and rounding out the top five, Lee Westwood (14/1).
Last year’s winner Charl Schwartzel (33/1) is grouped with Martin Kaymer and recent winners Angel Cabrera (2009) and Trevor Immelman (2008) are offered at 66 to 1 and 70 to 1, respectively.
