14:00 – Roger Federer v Mardy Fish:
Federer leads Group B at the ATP World Tour Finals following a three set defeat of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in his first match and then a 6-3, 6-0 beating of Rafael Nadal in game two. A win here will see him progress to the Semi Finals as the group winner, but will Mardy Fish, who has lost both of his matches so far, be able to take the win? Bet365.com say no and their Roger Federer v Mardy Fish odds are as follows:
Roger Federer odds – 1.10
Mardy Fish odds – 6.50
While Federer showed his class in his last game, thumping Nadal and allowing the Spaniard to win just three games in their match, and extending his winning run to 14 successive matches, Mardy Fish has been defeated by both Nadal and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The first game was a classic match in which Nadal won the first set 6-2 before Fish bounced back to win set two 6-3 and the two players could only be separated in a tie-breaker in the final set, while Fish held onto Tsonga in the first set of the second match before winning just a single game in the second to lose 7-6, 6-1.
We cannot see Mardy Fish getting anything from this match and the imperious Federer should easily win and extend his 6-1 record over the American in an easy fashion.
Betting Tips Recommendation:
Our money is on Roger Federer 2-0 v Mardy Fish @ 1.33.
20:00 – Rafael Nadal v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga:
This match is a winner takes all clash between the world numbers two and six as the winner will make the Semi Finals, but will Nadal be able to bounce back from his thumping at the hands of Roger Federer and record his seventh win over Tsonga in nine matches? Bet365.com think not as they make Tsonga the favourite for victory and their Rafael Nadal v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga odds are below:
Rafael Nadal odds – 2.20
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga odds – 1.61
Nadal will have to pick himself up from his beating at the hands of Federer for this game, but Tsonga will have taken great heart from the way he demolished Mardy Fish in the second set of their match so Nadal will not have an easy victory if he is to find his way into the Semi Finals.
However, Nadal has come into this tournament suffering from injury and with the way that he was outclassed so easily by Federer it appears that he is still suffering from this injury and he may struggle in this match as Tsonga is looking strong. The Frenchman also defeated Nadal at Queens earlier this season when the Spaniard was struggling with injury and even then Nadal did not go down easily as Tsonga won 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 on one of his weaker surfaces.
We expect Tsonga to win this match as he is confident, motivated and will be looking to take advantage of a subpar Nadal to reach the Semi Finals.
Betting Tips Recommendation:
We are backing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to beat Rafael Nadal @ 1.61.
